Mr. Taylor, best known as Gunther on “Friends,” has played the quiet but popular bowling alley bouncer since the show’s inception in 1994. Gunther then reportedly broke the news to his lover Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) when he found out in 1999 that his shopping partner Stef (Lisa Kudrow) was pregnant with her boyfriend and, a few months later, ended up marrying Stef. It was Gunther’s feud with former friend Bert (Robert Klein) that led to the character taking a top role in the series.
Taylor recently attended the People’s Small Business Travel Awards. Pictured are actor Robert Klein and host Richard Quest.
Gunther was reportedly one of the original V.I.P.’s. NBC tested each regular cast member to see which character was most easily manipulated by its eyes. After the show ended, Taylor had a recurring role on 2000’s Days of Our Lives.
Taylor has also appeared on shows including Spin City, GH, ER, ER: Second Shift, Numb3rs, as well as recurring roles on The L Word, Nip/Tuck, Damages, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and several CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episodes.
